Abstract

This paper deals with observations on the intraspecific floral morphology and colour variation on Geodorum densiflorum (Lam.) Schltr. a terrestrial medicinal Orchid species from the Darjeeling Himalaya of West Bengal, India. Floral morphology and colour variation was observed in lip and other floral parts. The comparative floral morphology is studied in detail with medicinal uses. However, minute colour variations do not constitute sufficient evidence to merit classifying it as a new species, sub species, variety or forma.
